Latin America and Southeast Asia will dominate the top 10 list of countries with the fastest ecommerce growth in 2024. Five hail from Latin America, including three of the top five. And although Southeast Asia has tailed off overall, several of its countries are still booming. The Philippines will lead the world in ecommerce growth every year through 2027, and Malaysia will also hover near the top.

Latin America is also a vulnerable spot for Amazon. Mercado Libre is building momentum in countries like Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina. There is far less retail media ad spending in the region than in China—but it’s growing much faster. Retail media is hottest in Latin America, though the outlook is positive everywhere.
